Mission/Vision Statement:
Guided by the Lord, The Christian Education Ministry seeks to prepare our youth and adults to live the life God has planned for us.

Purpose:
The purpose and focus of the Christian Education Ministry is to encourage spiritual growth and maturity in our relationship with God, to edify the Body of Christ (the Church), to equip us to proclaim the gospel and to minister to the needs of others, and to prepare us to lead productive and effective lives, Our Christian Education Ministry embodies 5 different entities: Sunday School, Tutoring, Vacation Bible School, Summer Enrichment, New Members' Class.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Goals/Objectives
Summer break is a special time that offers our Church family an opportunity for Bible study and evangelistic outreach. Vacation Bible School is scheduled each year at least 2 full weeks after the school year ends. Mt. Vernon's Vacation Bible School (V.B.S.) starts on Wednesday and ends on Friday (3 days - 2 1/2 hours per day; 5:30-8:00 p.m.). VBS is for all ages from babies to adult with classes for 6 age groups. Goals for V.B.S. include a stimulating Bible-based program for the children, having a program that is entertaining and enlightening, and offering the adults of the church an opportunity to become involved in a hands-on approach to the Christian education of our youth.   

No experience is necessary only enthusiasm and a desire to be involved. Any adult or young adult can become a part of this wonderful experience. We need teachers, aides, helpers, artists, actors, vocalists, dancers, organizers, greeters, musicians and snack coordinators, in short, if you are willing to help, we have a place for you. We need volunteers - will you help?
